Report and Gratitude for Achieving the Special Offering Goal for MKH2

We are requesting a special donation to secure a facility for the "Mongol Kids' Home 2" (MKH2) to provide protection and assistance to youth living on the streets by the end of July 2025.

Use of special donations

・Acquisition of facilities with the target amount

・If the full target amount is not collected, it will be used for rental expenses.

・If the full target amount is not raised, the surplus will be used for MKH2 operating expenses.

The MKH2 project helps rehabilitate youth living on the streets who hang out in the market area of central Ulaanbaatar.

The project provides a place where youth who have no home to return to can experience the warmth of people, and reaches out to them so that their emotional wounds can be healed, they can find their self-worth, and they can live as members of society with hope.

Provide protection and assistance until they are ready to return home or to be taken over by a government-affiliated facility.

Used as a shelter to which they can run in the event of a crisis situation.

We hope to secure a facility that meets the government recommended conditions (*) to achieve these goals.

Children in this area do not go to school and earn coins by begging or carrying goods.

When they are unable to earn even small change, they have to live by asking for it from others, or by stealing when they cannot get any.

They live without the bare necessities of food, clothing, shelter, health, hygiene, and education.

They cannot hope to live as members of society at present, as they lack trust in adults and society because they have not experienced a warm home or an enjoyable school life.

MKH2 provides the needs they need to live.

It provides them with programs that nourish their minds and souls, which they cannot experience on the street, such as meals, clothes, showers, medical care, counseling, good TV programs and movies, cooking, picnics, and so on.

Although there are government facilities that shelter them, homeless children who lack trust in adults and society are hard to reach.

There is a need to work directly with homeless children to gain their trust and link them to government facilities. Currently, there are only two organizations in Mongolia that play this intermediary role, including MKH2.

To create a place where children who have suffered emotional pain from abuse and discrimination can experience the warmth of a home, heal their hearts, and rediscover their self-worth.

MKH2 is reaching out to them so that they can eventually adjust to school and society.

“I saw one girl crying on the street.

When we talked to her, she told us that she was being sexually abused at home by her stepfather and his three stepdaughter brothers.

She said that she would rather live on the street because she is only 6 years old and her home, where she would normally feel safe, is in danger.

We could not leave them alone.

I wanted to create a place where they could feel at ease, and as an adult who could be trusted, I wanted to be a part of their lives, even if just a little.

That's why I decided to get involved in this work.”
